Under and Away (An Idiom Expanded)

On a wooden bridge ~ over a rocky creek
A young couple ~ threw grudge sticks ~ into the cold, mountain water
Warm hearts ~ stepped to the other side
The crooked old, lifeless sticks flowed under and away
Forgiveness  rose and glowed ~ in the moonlight
A kiss serenaded by the water and the rocks
They would return often ~ a tradition bloomed ~ like mountain blossoms
Now little hands and little feet ~ accompanied them
Sweet voices asked ~ "Where do the sticks and water go?"
Under and away, my sweet dears
Under and away
