My Leaf

My leaf is open
to the warming rays
the rain moves
down her vein to her tippy-tip
a rainbow kiss
my leaf so green
proud with vigor
spreading to the sun and the rain

My nutrients flow to her
absorbing earth's energy
I feed her my love
in summer's heat
her one pigment shows
I lift her up
saying to life,
"See, my Love, her lustrous green"

Soon her unabashed fall colours
will proudly glow
but first I must show her off
to the songbirds before they go

She gives me air
in the sunlight
a respire
in moonlight she rests
and when full, she lifts
a moon-tropism
only I can see

As days shorten
cool nights come
she warms her colours
patient no more
as green bids adieu
yellows, oranges, reds

They spread "greens" curtain
her vibrant colours drop green away
like drops of dew

My leaf
once lustrous green
in summer's breeze
bleeds anew
dancing free
holding on to fall's gentle breeze
her landing is faithful
always at my base

My seedling knew her
from long ago
she my first leaf
unfolded to me

She rests on the ground
thru winter's time
a blanket for me
when winter's cover melts
her cycle has made
her way thru

She is ready now

My leaf is open
to the warming rays
the rain moves
down her vein to her tippy-tip
a rainbow kiss
my leaf so green proud with vigor
spreading to the sun and the rain

Waterfall Intricacies (the shaping)

The roar
of the
waterfall
an unending
song
in the
dark of
the woods
they see light
the light of
white water
shaping
gneiss
minerals released
the sound to
gravitate towards

Masculine and delicate
meant for lovers
her hand in his
they take a seat
feet in sand
where the water has flowed
as if watching an
orchestra
a hundred pieces (intricacies)
as one piece
the flow like glass here
a trickle over there
falls to a calm pool
swirling
that made
ripples in the sand
ingraining their feet

This orchestra plays
the same piece of music
over 'n over
the song they want to hear
again 'n again
till the dark cumulus clouds
(the conductor)
so chooses to
change (the piece) with a
downpour rain

The roar so strong
they talk
with lips to ears
smiles
pointing at the intricacies
of the waterfall
where lovers
are meant to be
masculine and delicate
hand 'n hand
soft water
shaping hard rock
woman shaping man
the man she made
him to be

Fissure

A floating seed
a tiny one in fact
on the wind
can find the
smallest fissure
in hard tarmac
maybe falling
on the hardness
at first
but then pushed by
a random source
be it
man with a push
of air by
a mechanical
device
or nature with
a raindrop that picks
it up with a roll
to find soil
and sprout

Our hearts
even though
we make them
hard
they do crack (even more so)
and then unexpectedly
we see an
insignificant seed (or so we think)
filling our heart
filling the fissure

Ripples (Her Love)

He asked,
"Which ripple
is yours, my Love?"
She answered,
"All.
For all my
motions are
intended for
you, my Love.
When I touch
the water
when I touch
the wind
I touch You;
when I whisper
'I love you's'
in your ear.
My love
always flows
to you; forever."
I closed my eyes;
"I feel you forever".

Little Melting Pot

The perfect day
Spinning wheels I reminisced
Cyclists flew by
Cirrus clouds looked like spines
Winter skin was soon red
Flags flying high
This town has been transformed
Walking its streets I saw a new birth
Old south is new
Old-time bricks contrast with modern handiwork
I'm loving the mind behind this
A new mindset
Small town, little melting pot
My thoughts blended right in

The perfect night
Feet traveled a cobbled street
Looking for art
Misdirected at first
Finding walls of hung imaginations
And creativity
Adjacent music filled the night air
Like paintings freed from frames
I rested my tired feet
My ears were blown away
By Mozart's playing guitars
And an angelic voice
Small town, little melting pot
My thoughts blended right in

Breath of Breeze

Breath of breeze (alive)
Pervades broken panes and rooms
(Cimmerian night)
Candle flame shadows
Her flowing hair and gown
A silent symphony
Listening / waiting for her lover's whisper
On breath of breeze

Music is Better Than TV

Sleeping in, nothing to do
We could go out and blend in
People racing to red lights
People watching, from a mall bench

We could stay in and be noticed
Let's leave the big world where it is
And let no one come in
Pay attention to me
Pay attention to you

Moving from room to room
Just music playing
Mind numbing
And body stimulating
Music, music is better than TV

Words come easy
It's so easy to share
You know what I need
And I know what you need
Just stay right there

We better stay in and be noticed
Let's leave the big world where it is
And let no one come in
Pay attention to me
Pay attention to you

Our fingers move with the harmony
Flowing to the music
The music tells us what to do

Moving from room to room
Just music playing
Mind numbing
And body stimulating
Music, music is better than TV
